This course is aimed at the complete Beginner who has an interest in learning massage in a fun & informal environment and how to carry out a full body massage safely which is great for family & friends.
The course content is the same as the weekend course but is spread over 12 sessions. It is also the first stage for those who wish to continue to Diploma level.
This course covers:-
- A ‘seated’ shoulder, neck & head routine
- Effluerage & Petrisage for the body
- Towel etiquette
- Contra-Indications
- An introduction to Aromatherapy
- Informal assessment
For your assessment on the final session you will give and receive a full body massage. Successful completion and feedback from the tutor will enable you to determine whether or not to proceed to Diploma level.
Beginners Certificate will be issued on submission of 20 completed homework sheets, which are a record of your home massage practice sessions. You have 2 weeks after your assessment to submit them.
There are a maximum of 10 students per class with a mix of male & female students of all ages. Please note our minimum age of entry is 21.
The tutor will demonstrate the massage techniques, you will then be paired with another member of the class and then practice the techniques.
A course manual is included in the course fees and will be issued on the first evening. Equipment & base oil will be provided but you will be required to bring 2 large towels.
You do not have to have completed the Introductory weekend prior to enrolling on this course.
Attendance: 1 evening a week (6.30pm - 9.30pm)
A deposit of £155 is required on booking. The balance is due 2 weeks prior to commencement of the course. If booking within 2 weeks of the course start date, the full payment is required.
